The Mission board of the Free Church – generation-mission.org – organises a monthly prayer schedule for the congregations across our denomination for each week of each month we are asked to pray for specific congregations and their various needs and thanksgivings. We will try and keep you updated on our website of the congregations to be praying for each week. For week beginning 27th June your congregations to remember before the Lord are:

Knockbain Minister: Farquhar Renwick

Knockbain Free Church serves the communities of North Kessock and Munlochy in the Black Isle area of Ross-shire. It has strong links with the community and works alongside three schools in the surrounding area. Extensive community work, schoolwork and youth work form part of its usual activity.

Prayer Points:

  1. Please pray for our ongoing outreach among the community. Please pray that the congregation will be able to build up relationships with the community in order to share the good news of Jesus.
  2. Pray for the ministries to the congregation’s young people, that they would come to know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.

Govan G51 Minister: Norman Mackay

The vision to plant a church in this area of multiple deprivation was approved by the General Assembly in 2013. From a starting point of zero the work has taken root within the Govan community and presently has a flourishing and growing indigenous congregation. The church has initiated 7 ministries in the area, ranging from Christ-centred addiction recovery programmes to outreach cafes, trauma counselling and small group Bible studies. We have acquired our own building, plus a hub office in the centre of Govan. Many of those converted to Christ have spent long years in prison, struggled with substance addiction and are from long established families in Govan.

Prayer Points:

  1. Pray that the Lord would richly bless the 5 principles of the church plant: new believers, making disciples, creating community, cultural sensitivity, and mission focus.
  2. Give thanks for the growth of the church plant in Govan and pray that the Lord would continue to raise up leaders in the church and provide the resources to continue this valuable ministry.

Here are all the congregations we will be focusing on for prayer across the month of June
