The Free Church of Scotland is a Presbyterian Church, which means that we ordain Elders and Deacons to help lead and govern the Church. The Elders (including our two ministers, Kenny and Iain) have spiritual oversight of the Church, while the Deacons are responsible for the practical and mercy-ministry work done here.

Rev. Kenny Macleod
Minister
My name is Kenny Macleod, I come from the Western Isles and I am married to Maggie. We have 3 sons, Christopher, who is married to Alison, Seumas, who is married to Eilidh, and Calum, who is married to Kirsty. I accepted a call to be the minister of Dowanvale Free Church in Partick back in 2012. Our church is in the middle of a vibrant part of the city of Glasgow.
Rev. Iain Morrison
Assistant Minister
Iain is married to Liana and they have 2 wee children, Maya and Micah. He spent 3 years training at Chalmers Church in Edinburgh and then 4 years with a church plant in the South West of Edinburgh called Redeemer Church before joining us through in Glasgow to be our assistant minister in August 2023.
John Angus MacDonald
Deacon and Church Officer
Alongside being one of our Deacons, John Angus is our Church Officer, and is responsible for locking and unlocking the Church, setting up for some Church events, and undertaking general maintenance. Look out for him in his bright yellow reflective coat!
Ishbel MacCormick
Safeguarding Officer
Ishbel is the Church’s safeguarding officer, responsible for making sure that all Church workers are suitably checked before they work or volunteer in the Church. She is also the point of contact for anyone who has a Safeguarding concern.
Ishbel works with the Safeguarding Team at the Free Church Central Offices to make sure we are fully compliant with Safeguarding rules.

Karen Redman
Depute Safeguarding Officer
Karen is the Church’s Depute Safeguarding Officer, who can be contacted if/when Ishbel is unavailable.

Jacqueline (Jax) Topple
Church Treasurer
Jax is the Church’s Treasurer. Married to Michael, she works for an IT company.
Jax is responsible for managing the Church’s finances, and giving frequent reports to the Deacons’ Court. Alongside this she organises the regular Ladies’ Lunches.
